Math

The Mathematics program at Lakeside Middle School is challenging and rigorous at each level that is offered. Teachers follow the Georgia Standards of Excellence for Mathematics as well as county guidelines. In 6th grade there are three different levels of math. For students to be considered for accelerated 6th grade math, they had to qualify at the end of 5th grade. 

Advanced 6th Grade Math: In this course, students master all of the 6th grade standards and some specifically chosen 7th grade standards. In addition to the standards required for this course, students in these classes will master the 7th grade Rational Numbers and Proportions standards.

Accelerated 6th Grade Math: In this course, students master all of the 6th standards and the first semester of the 7th Grade standards.
