Our Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) program is designed to help students become confident readers, writers, speakers, and critical thinkers. Throughout grades 6–8, students engage with a variety of literary and informational texts, including short stories, novels, poetry, mythology, and nonfiction. Students develop skills in reading comprehension, literary analysis, vocabulary, grammar, research, and written communication while learning to support their ideas with strong text evidence.

Writing instruction focuses on narrative, informational, and argumentative writing, with an emphasis on organization, development, word choice, grammar, and effective communication. Students also build speaking, listening, and collaboration skills through class discussions, presentations, and engaging learning activities.

To provide additional practice and individualized support, students use NoRedInk to strengthen grammar and writing skills and Membean to develop vocabulary through personalized practice. Together, classroom instruction and these digital resources help students build the literacy skills needed for success in middle school, high school, and beyond.
